PHOTOREJUVENATION

WHAT IS IT?
Photorejuvenation (also known as Photofacial) is a skin treatment that uses intense pulsed light, to treat skin conditions and remove effects of photo-aging such as wrinkles, telangiectasia areas, sun/acne spots and also effectively improves the texture of the skin.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Throughout this treatment, intense pulsed light (IPL) is administered in safe, quick and powerful flashes to directly impact the targeted tissue. This gentle heating of the problem area breaks down skin pigment into tiny particles. When this occurs, the particles either rise to the skin’s surface as scabs, which will heal and flake off at their own accord, or are carried away by the body’s lymphatic system.

The treatment is not only effective, but it leaves the surrounding skin entirely unharmed. This means the effective elimination of pigmented skin comes without any cost to your healthy skin. Some more invasive treatment options on the market today, likely cannot make that claim.

Since IPL technology relies on the administration of multiple wavelengths of light, it works without causing any deep resurfacing. As such, most clients leave our clinic with (at most) some minor redness following the treatment with no major side effects or residual downtime required.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Results can be realized after one sessions; however, three to five sessions about one month apart are usually recommended for the best results.
