Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder that results in the formation of red, scaly patches on the limbs, trunk, scalp, and other parts of the body. The rash of psoriasis tends to fluctuate between an improved and worsened state (also referred to as a flare) however, the condition is not contagious.

At times, psoriasis can be disfiguring, uncomfortable, and even painful.
